NWCC Hits the Streets with City and PPB
NWCC Executive Chase McPherson hosted a walking tour with Hank Smith, Anne Hill, and Nate Tamara from the city, along with two officers from the PPB, Jones and Hughes. The city team was the group advocating for clearing trees and bushes in the 14th and Glisan areas.
Chase, the PPB officers, and the city team walked around the Pearl District, focusing along a serious problem area, NW 14/15/16th under the 405, and showing them the issues the NWCC deals with on the streets. The tour included a loop around Safeway and NW 12th, where the NWCC humanitarian team responded to several incidents. Chase addressed the issues the NWCC sees daily and discussed solutions and next steps with the group.
These interactions foster collaboration between the city of Portland and PPB partners, paving the way for innovative solutions and stronger partnerships.
