NWCC Advocacy: The Downtown Business Incentive Credit Program Now Includes the Pearl
The Downtown Business Incentive Credit Program has been expanded to include the Pearl district. The NWCC works to advocate for the Pearl as part of its mission to improve the lives of all who live, work, learn, and play in the district. NWCC Chair Ken Thrasher’s outreach to the city and county was critical to passing this important boost for our business community.
The Downtown Business Incentive Credit Program is a $25 million temporary nonrefundable tax credit designed to incentivize commercial lease signings and lease renewals that will significantly contribute to the recovery and revitalization of Portland’s central city. This program will retain and support future investments from a variety of central city tenants that drive job creation, pay taxes, and generate economic activity throughout the city’s core.
Thanks to the hard work of NWCC Chair Ken Thrasher, the Pearl District now qualifies and will benefit from the program. Below is a video of Mr. Thrasher’s comments in a recent forum.
